    Class 1: An Anatomical Inquiry

Ensure a safe practice and deepen your yoga experience

Did you know that many people do basic yoga poses incorrectly, creating imbalances within the body that can lead to injuries over time? In this monthly workshop series, we will break down each of the postures of the Vinyasa practice, building upon our learnings in each successive class. Students will explore the proper alignment principles paramount to safely deepening one's practice with an hour-long intensive workshop of three postures, followed by a second hour of invigorating flow designed to seal the lessons in the body.

This workshop is suitable for students of all levels. Great for beginners just learning the postures, but just as important for experienced yogis looking to deepen their practice and protect their body from injury.

Spaces are limited, reserve your spot today!!

    About the instructor:

Whit's relationship with yoga began following a career-ending knee injury while playing University basketball. Unbeknownst to him, his injury would become his greatest teacher, allowing him to develop an intimate understanding of the human body. Whit has over 1000 hours of yogic study and is a practicing yoga therapist and massage therapist. He teaches at various yoga studios in Victoria, including his own studio, Soul Arch Yoga. Sun November 6, 2011
2:00-3:00pm
Yin/Yang with Mal

'Yoga for a Cause' is back! This month, the VYC is partnering up with Social Coast and Dogwood Initiative to help raise money for the campaign against Enbridge's proposed oil pipeline, which would run from AB to the northwest coast of BC, endangering wildlife and extremely sensitive ecosystems.

On Sunday November 6th from 2-3pm, join the VYC, Dogwood and Social Coast at Base Lounge Fitness Studio for an invigorating Yin/Yang class with Mal! Class is by donation, ($5 suggested minimum) and all proceeds are going towards the campaign to oppose the pipeline. Come on out to support this great cause, and to help spread awareness (and have a great yoga class at the same time!)

All levels and abilities welcome. Mats available for $2 rental fee.
Thanks to Base Lounge for generously donating the studio space!

We hope to see you there,

The VYC
